Train tracks are parallel and yet appear to converge just like the rays.

Apertures act like lenses. Light bends around the edges. The hole in the clouds create a lens, the light enters the aperture and refracts outward from the parallax of the aperture.
Any real American with an aperture sight rifle knows this principle of optics.
