serious question, how comfortable are you with middle school algebra? not even the graphs and "find the y-intercept" shit, but the basic, bare bones algebraic operations and manipulation of expressions/equations.
if you can do them in your sleep, you should honestly be fine, just keep working at the calc/linalg. if not, then there's a definite problem to fix.
