Why is the middle point in the Simpsons rule taken 4 times, why

Why is the middle point in the Simpsons rule taken 4 times, why not just take it one time and divide by 3 instead of 6? I dont get it

That's just the rule. If you did what you said you would get a less accurate answer. Try a Monte Carlo simulation if you don't believe me.
