No, plenty of amazing universities have entire lectures and syllabi available, just look them up on youtube. I've used them and they've w/o a doubt given me an edge. Even if you don't plan to take notes, exposure to the concepts is invaluable

I've found the economy and banking bits interesting, but I haven't studied economy so I don't know how well it would've prepared me for college.
That being said I do find videos to be very slow and basic, so I don't think you'd make it through college on those lectures alone. But I think they're a good way to see if you're interested in a subject after spending some time with it.
