Does Name/Brand/Prestige = Higher Starting pay + Higher opportunity? Or is this just a meme? If it depends on courses, what course does it matter in?

A prestigious program means
-Good networking opportunities
-Big companies directly recruit from that school
-Good opportunities to learn cutting edge stuff
-Good equipment / labs / etc.
You can turn all of that into higher pay and better opportunities, if you're not a moron, but it's up to you to do the work.
Also note that I do not say "good classes". In a research-focused university, which is what the prestigious ones are, quality of undergraduate education is sometimes a secondary priority.
