Can anyone tell me what these landforms are? They look like snowcapped mountains, but given the region (near Baghdad) that seems unlikely

I'd say it's simply small clouds forming above plantations. You can tell because they have exactly the same shape as the forests underneath

In cases like this Google Earth has a function to look at older pictures

It is called sunlight reflecting off of lakes. See how the tree lines around the lakes have shadows and the shiny part shimmers in a wave like manner.
I have seen the same thing in airplanes flying over lakes, it only happens at a small angle but it looks wired and it can be blinding bright at times.
