They make lamps specifically for this purpose.

You want a plant growing lightbulb, not a regular one. Your local hardware store should have them.

More so then the sun? Not at all. I'm not sure even greenhouse lighting systems can work as efficiently as the sun. I'm a biochem guy so my botany may not be perfect so someone please correct me if I'm wrong

It would work but be somewhat inefficient. Green light does not do anything useful in normal photosynthesis. Using red and blue LEDs will be efficient and people do this already.
