1. speed up 3 hour movie by x4
2. movie becomes 180 / 4 = 45 minutes long
3. upload movie to youtube
4. change speed to 0.25 on youtube settings
5. 180 minute movie has been compressed to the size of a 45 minute movie
Wow, yer some kind of genius . dot
What about sound? Wouldn't it be a bit distorted even if you speed it up with the movie

Your lowering the framerate to do that.
>>7757346
The audio would sound like a bloody mess of transients.

>5,5 KHz
>already pretty fucking high
Either you're in your mid 60s or you're really that deaf.
>>7757325
you could just use software to lower the framerate and sample rate. you would essentially be doing the same thing
>>7757373
This. You would be watching it at 6fps

You're either discarding frames, or misflagging the stream's framerate in the container. First results in loss of information, second saves nothing.
My goal is to develop fast and extremely efficient lossless coding such that regardless of size and content, a file could be reduced to ~1 mb. Might have to outright drop the fast part though, I only care about a usable speed.
youtube mutes audio when its at .25
