What are some theories that are currently considered "fringe science" but are now gaining traction in the scientific community?

What are the most outrageous or supernatural-like things that are being confirmed scientifically? For example, telepathy, time travel, teleportation, life after death, etc.

These are not considered fringe science. They are pretty common and respected research fields.

OP here again

Is there any fringe/recent proof suggesting an afterlife or existentialism answers? I'm having an existential crisis while also deciding what types of research projects to manage as I am a project manager

Flat earth isn't science it's provably wrong in every conceivable way.

Math and physics would be flipped on its head if the earth was flat.

Also Quantas makes direct flights from Argentina to South Africa. Straight over the south pole in 6-7 hours. On a flat earth, that flight would be at least twice as long. (antarctica as a giant perimeter of the earth)
