Kill me tier desu, sucks that science in the UK is on it's knees too

What's even more surprising is that STEM undergrads generally cost less than social sciences/humanities by 400-700 dollars, for some fucking reason

What college? Is it a private school or a top tier school?

fucking uOttawa

I paid $20k a year for in state university tuition.

I pay about 140€ a year but that's not really for the tuition and more a membership of the student union thing

You're going to meme university and complaining about tuition.

Just go to any low tier uni and get full tuition covered with marks alone.
>>
>>7727802
Canada has some of the cheapest higher education in the world. You're paying only 20% of the cost, subsidized heavily by the taxpayer (me). Get over it, you whiny bitch, and get a fucking job.
>>
>>7727866
Commonwealth doesn't mean we share wealth. Canadians pay a lot of tax relative to most other nations, and we have all sorts of import tariffs that make products expensive (though I understand that Aussies get raped way harder on this for many things).
>>
>>7727875
uOttawa is a low tier university though.
>>
>>7727883
eurofags pay taxes too, and they get free university. hell, arabs get PAID to go to university. they get like 10k a year or something to buy new wives.
>>
mine is 1.1k per semester
>>
>on my way to college as an amerifat

>>
>>7727802
In Italy they cost around 2000€ per year, but you can pay much less according to your economic status.
>>
>>7727928
Europeans have considerably less infrastructure to maintain, so they get more for their dollar. Canada has 17000 km of highways; Poland has a similar population and has 2500 km. Every community of 1000 maintains its own hospital, fire hall, school, and so on.

To fund higher education to that extent in Canada would require concurrent reduction in those other expenses, or a significantly higher tax burden.
>>
>>7727949
> for their dollar
Or euro or pound, as the case may be. You know what I mean.
>>
>>7727802
USA.
I pay about 10k a year in tuition.
However I pull out a little over that so I don't have to get a job.

I don't care really, it'll get payed off. I live pretty conservatively anyway. Buying a house or car isn't even on my goal list.
>>
32k a year, because its a private college with good benefits, but if I ever fail out I'll probably end up killing myself

You can get a job easily beside studying.

Many graduate students are funded somehow anyway so I don't think that matters too much. MIT has a lot of money.

>>
Not a single one of you got a scholarship? Dear god they were handing out scholarships like cookies my senior year of hs and I'm an amerifat.

Going to school full ride and I get about $1k a semester for book expenses

Granted it's not a huge name uni but it's growing and a lot of the profs are from top 10 schools like Harvard and such

You seriously compare Canada to Poland? Poland has one of the LEAST highways of all of Europe. Just look at how the roads in Poland connect to other countries, elsewhere its highway, in poland there isnt.

Besides that, what is the quality of the roads? In western europe the roads are very high standard (except for Belgium). From what I remember, it wasnt much to write home about in Canada or USA...

Yeah, I'm over 20k in debt for just three terms here. There's no way I'm going to deal with this shit anymore when I can pay a third of that at a cheaper school, and still learn the same shit.

Not Masters.
>>

Aren't Europeans always bragging about how their schooling is basically free and that Americans pay a shit load? Because judging by these numbers that's bullshit. Is this for all colleges in the UK? Because even here in the conservative state of Georgia, the college tuition of the 3rd largest college in the state is below $3000. Not to mention that we have a state wide scholarship called HOPE that pays $2000 if you have at least a 3.0 or will pay full ride: apartment, books, food cost and all, if you have a 3.8 along with a certain SAT score. Then of course Pell grants are super easy to get so I end up getting paid to go to undergrad without even having to try to apply to any of the other normal scholarships.

>tfw paid an actual salary (1200€ monthly) by the uni just for going there
>>
>>7727802
that's a lot cheaper than I thought.

Especially given that a minimum wage job in Canada probably pays 15-20k per year.

Can I plz come there and steal your jobs, scholarships and women?

While here in Greece I pay nothing, it's also very hard to get a job to cover your living expenses.
Not to mention how inflexible the curriculums and boards are.
I wanted to change my major but it's impossible.
The only thing I can do is to either finish my masters or start over.

Grad student (doing my master's)
I don't know about the taxes yet, I hadn't earned enough in 2014 to qualify for paying taxes (the salary started in september so I earned something like 4k total in 2014, way below the bar).
I have just done a simulation on the website of the finance ministry and I don't even think I earn enough in one year to pay taxes kek
