Why can't the narrow-minded spergs of /sci/ accept that asteroid mining is the future?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asteroid_mining
Earth minerals are running out, space launch costs are coming down, it's not even a possibility, it's a fucking certainty.
>>
>>7722520
It's a fucking pipe dream
>>
>>7722608
First smug contrarian with nothing to back it up with like clockwork
>>
>>7722520
From your link:
>up to 2 kg from an asteroid to Earth, will cost about US$1 billion

Note that this is raw material which could contain no valuables at all
>>
>>7722520
We can't even make a base on the moon
>>
>>7722520

>Earth minerals are running out

Virtually every ounce of the earth is still here. What you mean is economically available or "free to take for yourself" is running out.

But you are still wrong. Recycling and conservation are the key. Once again you are looking at things through the magical thinking philosophy of capitalism.
A little bit of management and we have everything we will ever need right here on earth.
>>
>>7722520
Who is that semen demon?
>>
>>7722609
See >>7722610

Also, do you have any idea what kind of heavy duty industry mining is and how small and feeble our space ''ships'' are?
>>
>>7722520
u wot meight ? how could they 'run out' like where could they go ? they need a gorillion joules of energy to get to a place where they are as expensive to get to earth as astroid mineral .

asteroids have highly hyperbolic trajectories and it would take a gorillion delta v to get to one and back to earth with it\part of it .

maybe with much better nuclear propulsion then we have we could put asteroids into earth orbits and have industrial space stations on orbits close to those to process the materials from the asteroid and make fuel\air\water\spaceships\stuff for spacestations .
>>
>>7722609
>implying your bullshit has anything to back it up in the first place
>>
>>7722520
What are the immediate economic benefits of asteroid mining?

What is practical about ever leaving Earth? We have everything we need right here.
>>
>>7722520
>asteroid mining
launching thousands of tons of industrial equipment into space doesn't seem feasible to me at all

getting millions of tons of mined resources back to earth doesn't sound like something we can do either

>We have everything we need right here.
But for how long?
>>
>>7723400
Long enough for your lifetime and mine.
>>
>>7722827
Nuclear pulse propulsion could do several super heavy launches to jumpstart space industries

As things like automated drones & 3D printers get better, it'll be very possible.

Obviously space is the inevitable future, and the question of asteroid mining is a "when" not "if"

Only liberals view perpetual socialist stagnation as some endgoal. Unfortunately this viewpoint dominates our culture & countries for now.
>>
>>7723429
>Nuclear pulse propulsion
Meme rocket. Stop talking about this physicists' fantasy like it's a realistic idea.
>>
>>7722520
Why would you post this revolting image on the science board, what is wrong with you?
>>
>>7723472
It's 100% a realistic idea
>>
Which asteroids have an abundance of rare substances that warrant asteroid mining?
>>
If salt water damages the orion capsule on splash down... why not land it in fresh water?
>>
>>7722520
It would be several orders of magnitude more profitable to blindly sieve through water, sand and dirt on earth, and filter out trace particles of precious metals and other elements.
>>
>>7722628
>What is practical about ever leaving Earth?
Well we'll all die here if we never do
>>
>>7723472
My god can this board get any more contrarian? Nuclear pulse propulsion was a very serious concept that was extensively studied and tested and even given the go-ahead by the government. A treaty was signed banning nuclear weapons in space which killed it off.

Are you gay?
>>
>>7724497
Ah, the old "someone who doesn't share my taste in the feminine form must be gay." How is high school?
>>
>>7724501
If you don't like that hip to waist ratio you are gay. Simple. You like little boy bodies, what does that make you? Gay.
>>
>>7723499
closet faggot

that woman is a semen demon; the seducer and downfall of powerful and great men
>>
>>7724529
i agree

how can someone deny such a glorious bounty?

id kill to be inside her
>>
>>7724529
The physique as a whole is multiple ratios. Her hip to waist isn't great. Ass size and thigh structure relative to her legs as a whole, also doesn't do much for me. All of these elements together simply aren't attractive.

>pic related
A more attractive figure.
>>
>>7724560
>Average white girl with completely average hair and body shape
So boring, much pleb taste, wow kill yourself.
>>
>>7724580
She's actually Eurasian. I just happened to skim through and find an image that clearly highlights the ratios we're talking about. It's not as though I only find one very specific subset of women attractive... so how's high school going? Serious question.
>>
>>7724560
Consider the following, Renaissance artists used to depict the full-figured woman. Fast forward to the modern age where kikes have gotten hold of the media they push the 12 year old boy look down Western throats because they want to promote faggotry.
>>
>>7724590
>Broad shoulders
>Jaw
>No tits
Why don't you drop the bullshit and just fuck a man?

Obviously the idea of female beauty has shifted over time, and varied through different cultures. That's largely irrelevant to the core clustering of traits a given population displays a preference towards, taking into account that cultural context.

It's funny though, because I think the same thing you're trying to say here. I look at how other people's tastes seem to average out, and have to wonder how much of it is what they've been conditioned to find attractive. You included. Muh big hips. Muh disproportionately large tits. Muh tiny waist regardless of their figure as a whole.

We're both doing the same thing from different angles. Don't fool yourself into believing your perspective is truly unique and somehow transcends cultural conditioning.
>>
>>7724593
I think you're just very easily fooled by clothing, lighting, makeup, and camera angle. Or you're bad at figuring out actual bodily proportions when given only a certain perspective.

'beauty' is at best an illusion, male brains get conditioned to respond to female figures, they do not necessarily need the whole shebang (groan) to be attracted....
<-- attempt to illustrate point
