not sure if DIY or Sci but here we go. How do I make rocket fuel. Liquid rocket fuel. I was thinking a alcohol + Hydrogen peroxide. How do I get the pure alcohol in order for the mixture to work?

Buy ultra pure kerosene. You can use lower purity but expect more coking.

99% pure isopropyl alcohol -- will this work?

bro, its like 3 am where I live chill I'll watch it after work.

Isp is about 1/3 less than kerosene. Better be efficient with that weight or you'll never get to orbit.

It really isn't the alcohol you should be worried about, it's the peroxide. 99% concentrated alcohol is abundantly available, but concentrated peroxide is much harder to obtain.

>kerosene
Why? Even clean kerosene is going to burn dirtier than alcohol, and alcohol has the added benefit of being somewhat self-oxidizing (reducing the quantity of expensive high-test peroxide needed in the fuel mixture). Kerosene is also harder to ignite.

Yes.

More isp. Cleaning the internals is a tradeoff for more power. Much safer since it is harder to ignite. Alcohol is a good fuel if you want to stay suborbital, but kind of pointless unless you want to bomb something.

Why would you make a rocket that doesn't go into orbit?
