I will say this one thing, I am one such person who likes anime like it is a definite part of my life, I cannot don't browse anime or watch any for one day, in fact, I even carry it on my Ipod.
That said, I am a good 25 year old individual who works as a assistant manager at a local restaurant, I earn quite a plenty, and I do not really have any mind of sharing my pleasures with others, as long as they ask me what I like, I will openly admit to anime, cartoons, and artwork in general (dousing my power level with quotes like Da Vinci) just in case people go... "oh, so like... you are into Japanese animated porn?!"
I also have a not so active social life, although I don't go to the extent of staying at home with figurines and DVDs, I do however, keep a good collection, and since my job includes serving food and running restaurant ops, I have no choice but again, to supress power levels.
I am not as annoyed over the issue of anyone being loud of their culture, in fact, I wholesomely approve it, but I would only hope they can get satisfaction, for themselves, in view of how they can be annoying towards others.
TL DR, I am otaku, power level supressed, work, don't hate etc.

Here's the problem, OP. The Japanese ethos was warped forever by the atomic bomb attacks during WWII. Do you think the world can really handle six animes? In the 1980's, United States President Ronald Reagan developed an idea known as "Mutually-Assured Destruction" (MAD). This philosophy stated that war with Russia would not happen, because there was no way to wage it without both countries being destroyed. I see this same situation today. We cannot nuke more countries for fear of mutually assured destruction when they create more anime. Thank you for your time.
