Vlad started out well. First she went towards sokobon afraid that she would meet her end to a wand in the gnomish mines. This proved a wise course. She found some nice armor (Chain Mail +1) early on that served her well. Level 2 revealed an Altar which was a stroke of divine luck, and also a fountain and a box for a stash! Heading close to Sokobon she dipped her longsword and received Excalibur. Chancing to read a few scrolls, she ran across identify and used it to identify a blessed scroll of enchant weapon, and two other scrolls of enchant weapon. "There's no time like now" she thought and enchanted Excalibur to +5. With that leading the way and finding a few key wands in sokobon, she was able to solve the whole thing without a single error, thus not needing a pickaxe. She used her wands of fire and lightning on annoying monsters behind bounders. Sokobon revealed an amulet of reflection. Just what she wanted! Unfortunately the only unicorn she encountered was a co-aligned one, and in a fit of rage she slew the co-aligned unicorn for its horn, immediately feeling guilty. She enhanced her longsword and was now feeling confident to go down into the mines.
On her descent, an evil water nymph was lurking and threw a potion of paralysis at our noble hero. Paralyzed as she was the nymph then rifled through her pockets and stole her amulet of reflection. Her lamp went out searching for the nymph and she realized that the nymph would continue to trounce her if she didn't find some other way. She fired her wand of fire at the nymph... and it got reflected back! The nymph now wore her amulet and waggled the unicorn horn near her face.
Realizing this was punishment for her transgressions against the Gods, she sulked down to gnometown, wh
