I stopped following after Synchros.
Nekroz supposedly got hit hard by the ban list from what I've read. Monarchs, Kozmo, and Burning Abyss Phantom Knights (PK Fire) are currently the three meta decks.
I didn't play since second grade (so roughly ten or twelve years) and just got back into it. The game is complex, but once you okay enough YGO Pro / Devpro it becomes manageable.

I'm tired of this meta and hopefully I'll get to deal with rulings on less awful decks come this fall for the new regional season. And I'll play them, but I'm not getting an invite.

I don't play competitive but I have to agree that Kozmo and Monarchs suck to face online. They're not fun. At least BA is interesting.

I've played BA since BOSH and at least it's not very helmet or very ignorant or very floodgate. It does a little of all but that's because it also covers the most important thing and it's that there's some actual player interaction. NAWCQ finals last year and this year were some of the most high level duels ever
