Everybody want's someone with skills or experience, which I lack both of. In the past 3 months I've sent my resume/curricula vitae to about 50 employers and not a one has called me back.
All the entry level positions are filled by 3 kinds of people, teenagers who have a summer/part-time job, the elderly who are looking to supplement their income, and welfare queens who are required to have some type of employment to keep the bennies rolling. I feel like trash when I walk into grimy grocery stores and fast food restaurants and plead with the manager to see if there's any work that can be done and they turn me down.
Sometimes it feels like the cards are stacked against me, but then I think about how much worse my life could be, and I'm grateful. It doesn't cheer me up though.
