I got drunk and started thinking about my cat that ran away two years ago. I kept imagining him starving or being hit by a car or hurt and eaten alive and that it was my fault for letting him be an indoor/outdoor cat. I started bawling and felt fucking awful. Even sometimes when I'm sober I imagine the feel of his fur and the little unique noises hed make and his habits.

I know it sucks losing a pet, but just remember that someone could've rescued him too and he's now living the high life somewhere.

Ik this is a cat thread, but my pet dog was just diagnosed with terminal cancer in his digestive system that spread to his lungs.
I've been around him since I was little, he was really a gift to me from my parents, and I got to name him
I've gone through a lot of rough times, lost friends, but he was always there
I don't know what it will be like without him anons... He's only 8 years old

This isn't a cat thread, this is a thread for people who've lost any pet and are ate up about it. I can't imagine what its like knowing hes gonna die soon since i was lucky enough to not have a chance to watch it but as long as he dies with your love he will be fine and you will always have him in your heart. Just make sure that when you get a new pet, its not starting over, its continuing the cycle of love, to those animals you were their world, you should be happy to enrich those lives throughout your own
