There are people in wheelchairs fencing, playing rugby, tennis, golf. Blind people playing football, swimming, skiing. People without legs Cycling, Sprinting highjumping. People without hands climbing, swimming. They win medals, fill stadiums of fans cheering for them and are top athletes.

>So what is your ecxuse, robot?

I'm not some fucking retarded cripple that needs to overcompensate so normies will like me

Nobody has made a special, for-shitters version of the things I enjoy doing that I can win medals for.

Not that I support lazy people but this argument sucks.
>>
Those people get almost instant recognition for doing the same thing as normal people whilst having way less competition

No they don't. Nobody gives a shit about para-sports unless it's the parolympics, and even then it's just pity attention because everyone hyped up the real sport.

A mate at my work has competed in 2 paralympics. Wheelchair shotputter. So little training and only took up the sport for a year before getting tried for the parolympic squad.

Long story short, I'm an average runner with both my legs, but I'd become a quality paralympic runner should I lose one.

/r9k/ is basically the for-shitters version of 4chan.

When will we get the special olympics nature intended? Full-contact, no prosthetics. Just have fast can a truly limbless man move? We may never know.

But why is the ball round?

But why are they sitting?

Frankly I think the olympics has moved away from genuine athleticism and into sport.

High jump is no longer practical - their landings are unrealistic for a world that isn't padded.

Sprinting includes many bonuses that aren't present in real world scenarios: a synthetic surface that allows spikes to gain greater traction, light-weight clothing, starting blocks, a predefined route, you aren't carrying anything. How often does somebody sprinting in the real world have all that?

The whole thing is min-maxing with no concern for practicality. So specialised are their techniques now that unless you intend to compete yourself under the same circumstances what you see is useless to you.

This just means you can get over physical problems but not mental.
Physical defects only stop you from doing one thing while mental defects stops you from doing anything.
