Please don't hurt him, there's probably a good reason he's acting the way he is such as he hasn't been fixed or something it really stressing him out to want to attack you. Cats that aren't fixed can be really difficult to deal with and getting him done will really calm him down. Cats won't attack you unless something is really bothering them.

Just so you know, this is something unfixed male cats will do to mark their territory. They'll spray on everything. It's part of their natural behavior. Getting him fixed will make him stop doing this and calm him down. If he was allowed outside he'd do this less in the house too but if all the house is what he has he'll focus on that because it's all he's got.
