He's probably talking in a very feminine way because he's insecure about his feelings. He doesn't feel that they're legitimate for his sex to have, so he puts on the image of someone behaving like the opposite sex to "legitimize" it. Nobody can make a judgment on his real identity, because he has made up a false identity to take any blame that others try to place on him.

That's what I see, at least. It could be that he's just a very girly man and that's just who he is. No smoke and mirrors to it.
