FUCKING RRREEEEEEEEEE
>>
>>29941500
What does your resume look like? Screen shot it, and blur out personal info.
>>
>>29941500
I did this for two years.
m talking to my navy recruiter tomorrow, fuck this.
>>
>>29941520

Numerous work and volunteer experience, good grammar etc. It's not the best resume but nothing stands out that would make me unemployable.
>>
>>29941500
>>apply for 20 jobs a day

So you don't customize it for each job? That's why turd
>>
>>29941546
I feel like you haven't heard me. Screen shot it, and black out your name and address. Formatting and unnecessary info can be an "into the trash" moment.
>>
>>29941546
there's always going to be someone else submitting their resume who has everything you do, and more. just give up, nobody wants to hire you.
>>
>>29941568
Not true. And sometimes, those people who have more are fucking retarded with their resume, and its a god-damned mess, so HR doesn't even look at it.

As someone who used to work for a staffing agency, it happens more often than anyone would think.
>>
>>29941552
This. I applied for hundreds of jobs but when I took the time to write a cover letter for each application and customize my resume, I received nothing but offers. Now I'm a doctor, lawyer and physicist getting paid $600,000 per year even though I haven't even graduated college. Those "requirements"are just to weed out the low-confidence applicants. You've just got to want it more, brah. We're all gonna make it.
>>
>>29941500
But according to r9k, being a neet is a great thing...
>>
Should I just have one line for my previous work or should I give summaries of my roles and responsbilities to go with?
>>
>>29941559
If he doesn't want to he doesn't want to you obnoxious fuck
>>
>>29941635
Then he's bitching, and not looking for a solution to the problem. Considering there is someone in the thread (me) that used to review tons of them, I could actually help.

>>29941622
You should have summaries of your roles and responsibilities. And formatting them makes all the difference.
>>
>>29941652

I have proper bulletpoints for them.
>>
>>29941600
Well meme'd my affluent friend
>>
>>29941659
If that's how you want to do it, fine. Enjoy doing the same thing with no results.

Am I not supposed to have bulletpoints?
>>
>>29941758
Post your resume and I'll review it and give you pointers. Otherwise, you get no advice.

Last post I make unless you post the resume.

call them a week or week and a half after you apply. dont expect shit in a few days. i've had 7 (most of them shit) jobs and it works. be persistent
>>
>>29941772
It would actually require effort to blur out the personal info and post it. If he was into putting in effort, wouldn't he have a job already?
>>
>>29941799
I'm getting that impression. After I got married, I wrote all my husband's resumes, and he went from a Wal-mart Deli worker to making 44.50/hr at a power plant over the course of 4 years.

The key is knowing where you can lie, and how to do it.
>>
>>29941818
If you're only gonna talk about the advice you can give but choose not to just stop posting.
>>
>>29941911
No. I'm good. Me giving generic advice leads to you having a generic resume at best, and a clusterfuck at worst.

Who are you rooting for on Game of Thrones? I'm hoping the Thorn Queen will get her revenge.
>>
>>29941546

Here's a good tip i found a while back.

Make a craigslist listing for a (fake) job. Make it attractive (entry-level position, decent wage, career opportunity) Pick a large city to maximize the amount of people e-mailing you.

You'll get LOTS of resumes in. Go through all of them. Which ones stand out? Which ones are attractive, and which ones suck? Try to mimic the style and information that you found most attractive and subsequently use it to brush up your own resume.

It's a little bit immoral, but fuck it - this day and age competition is so huge you're just gonna have to roll with it.

>>

You're not supposed to list an entry-level position in a call center you idiot.
>>
Advice from a normie just here for lulz. As everyone else is saying, just customize it. Instead of saying "I want to get a job anywhere" a custom resume says "I want to work here".

That, and resume spamming is bullshit. Any time I hear "20 resumes a day" I can't fathom what kinds of jobs they are applying to. Like, are we talking fast food and retail or are you people just spamming out resumes to everyone like "...$200k a year? I haven't passed the bar exam yet...but I'm sure they'll put me through law school..."?

I've never sent out more than three resumes to get a job. But then again I only apply to places that I meet the qualifications, experience, etc and don't spam it everywhere.
>>
>>29942280
>I only apply to places that I meet the qualifications, experience
How are we supposed to get the experience while being constantly rejected to ENTRY LEVEL jobs??

>"those sections about experience levels are just to weed out the people with no confidence! apply even if you have little to no experience!"
>send application to supposed "entry level" position
>company sends me tests to determine how much I actually know about the field
>which is jack shit, because I have no experience
>>
>>29942343

Because the employee market is over-saturated and there was probably someone better qualified than you.

The solution? Nepotism or temp agencies.
