There were no robots for various reasons as I'll explain here
1. Families usually stayed together, no single mothers
2. Women hadn't universally become sluts yet
3. No internet pitting you against Chads all over the world and allowing women to exclusively fuck Chad all week long
4. No internet acting as a socialization substitute, you actually had to go outside to talk to people

There were no robots because kids those days didn't spend their time in the rooms playing games and browsing the internet. Even the loser kids still went out to socialise and make friends. Sure there were still a few isolated shut-ins but it was much more difficult to sustain that lifestyle since living with your parents past 20 was simply unheard of and autism bucks didn't exist

There were autists they were just never as bad today. I mean there are 3 types of autists, the ones who can barely or can't even speak a language and are super violent. The first two have always been around and they haven't really gotten anymore prevalent. The third however, with the rise of the internet has become much more common than in the past. Before the internet there wasn't as much you could do at home, so you'd get bored much easier. And then things you could do at home you wouldn't be able to do unless you left your house first. For example, if you wanted to watch a movie or you'd have to go out and buy, or more than likely, rent it, if you wanted to play vidya you'd have to go to an arcade. You couldn't just do everything instantly at home one machine.
People were forced to leave their house for entertainment and to have fun, and as a result they made friends, even if they were the third type of autist. But nowadays the third type of autist rarely leaves his room, and it's even rarer for them to leave the house. The only time they do is when they're forced too, like with school work or work. As a result of that their social skills aren't just bad because of autism, but even worse because of never leaving their house to socialize.
And it doesn't just affect the third type of autist today. People without autism are worse than an autist 30 years ago because so many people today never leave their house and never socialize with people and their social skills just deteriorate.
