When a kid says they want to be the other gender, they are hooked up to a psychiatrist who will be their friend until adulthood. This is a specialist who can tell if someone is faking or if it's real. At the beginning they won't even administer any pills so don't get your panties in a twist. At the onset of puberty they give medication to delay puberty. It's only when they are 15 and lucid that they actually decide if they want to go through with it or not.
tldr: There is literally no reason to worry about this, the system works.

Puberty only serves to make it even clearer that the person is trans as their mental health quickly starts to deteriorate and suicide rates rises to the level of the average trans poster on this board. If someone displays clear symptoms even before puberty then that only increases the certainty that they have legit gender dysphoria.
The puberty blockers allow them to live almost normal lives as their target sex, in the 99% chance occurrence that the diagnosis is correct. Letting the natural puberty happen will lead to a happy outcome in the 1% chance occurence that the diagnosis was wrong, and in the other 99% of cases it will produce the kind of transsexual that posts on this board.
