Give me one good reason why we aren't colonizing the moon.
>>
>>29916902

The moon isn't a good place for humans to live and never can be.
>>
>>29916902

The moon is cold.
>>
It's about the size of a baseball for one thing
>>
>>29916902
that sounds pretty hard
>>
People would think it's pointless and vote against it. They think that it would all be "wasted money" and that it means that we're all going to be a bit less wealthy. Meanwhile unemployment is high and factories are closing. Millions of people hate their jobs and aren't even employed full time and need multiple jobs and are stressed as fuck. Most of the jobs are bullshit service industry make-work that don't produce any wealth. Millions of workers are basically wasting their time doing nothing of value. Millions are NEETs. And worst of all, we have no moon colonies.
>>
>>29916902

Lack of financial stability over the last 4 decades.
>>
>>29916956
what are you talking about

media has never lied to me before and it tells me you can use moon dust to teleport
>>
Because it doesn't have anything that can't already be found on Earth in higher abundance. It's like having a Walmart in your area, but driving 300 miles to go to a small store that sells the same things at 2x the price.
>>
1/6th gravity would cause human body to atrophy
>>
>>29916956
But it would be interesting and we can drill inside to see is there is cool stuff.

>>29916964
Space is cold. Doesnt mean we shouldnt be there

>>29917002
its nasa they can do anything

>>29917017
money is just a social contruct

>>29917032
you could cycle people to and from earth if they stay up there too long. eventually build a space elevator.
>>
>>29917022

Robots can farm the dust while we live somewhere that can maintain an atmosphere.
>>
>>29917049
It won't even be considered until humans achieve world peace and global economic stability.
>>
>>29917049
>space elevator
the moon orbits the earth though

also expensive as fuck
>>
>>29916902
easy, no one has ever been to the moon, and no one ever will giving our shit technology.

jesus everyone here is at least somewhat wrong so far... how. i had more faith in you bots...

we aren't colonizing the moon because it lacks basic needs... ya know.. like fucking water.

imo we should be on mars in a couple decades but we never will be.. humanity will continue to be distracted by petty nationalism, racism, sexism ect and we won't do these amazing things as a species as fast as we really could...
>>
>>29917131
Nationalism propelled us to the moon though.

It will also get us to mars.

Give me one good reason why we should colonizing moon.
Before the era of fusion energy, base on the moon does not make sense.

That's not NASA, thats a group of roasties posing for a photo while visiting NASA

>What is Helium 3?
>>
>>29917159
DIVERSITY WOW :^)
>>
>>29916902
Because it wouldn't work.

The gravity is too low, so bones will whittle down, and after a while, people won't be able to return to earth.

The better question is why we at least haven't made a base on the moon, trying to mine H3. I guess because we don't really have any use for h3 yet.

We do not need Helium 3 right now. Cheaper to bomb another "oil countrie".

A rat done bit my sister Nell
With Whitey on the moon
Her face and arms began to swell
And Whitey's on the moon

I can't pay no doctor bills
But Whitey's on the moon
Ten years from now I'll be paying still
While Whitey's on the moon

You know, the man just upped my rent last night
Cause Whitey's on the moon
No hot water, no toilets, no lights
But Whitey's on the moon

I wonder why he's uppin' me?
Cause Whitey's on the moon?
Well i was already given him fifty a week
And now Whitey's on the moon

Taxes takin' my whole damn check
The junkies make me a nervous wreck
The price of food is goin up
And if all that crap wasn't enough
A rat done bit my sister nell
With Whitey on the moon

Her face and arms began to swell
And Whitey's on the moon

With all that money i made last year
For Whitey on the moon
How come I ain't got no money here?
Hmm, Whitey's on the moon

You know I just about had my fill
Of Whitey on the moon
I think I'll send these doctor bills
airmail special
To Whitey on the moon
>>
>>29917299
Do we have a problem shitskin?
>>
>>29916902
There's no porn to be made on the moon.
>>
If we go to the moon we could harvest hydrogen based fuels or something. Also there is ice/water at the poles. It's also easier to launch space missions from the lunar gravity well which is a small fraction of Earth's. And the Chinese are going to the moon. Space race soon? We will get better technology. Then on to Mars/ Titan and Jupiter's moons.
>>
>>29917871
I meant to post a link about the movie "Moon", which is pretty good. At least it shows us using the moon as a resource.
>>
Give me one good reason why you aren't colonizing DEEZ NUTS

XDXDXDDXDXDXD
>>
>>29917901
A pity that when you actually look into it, the concentration of helium 3 in the lunar regolith is about 50 parts per billion, or an extraction rate of 150 million tons of ore per ton of helium 3 recovered.

Pretty sure that's a net loss.
>>
>>29916902
'We' have plans to build a base there eventually but life will still be shit for basically everyone. There won't be a space-colonizing utopian human civilization waiting for us in the future.
