I love music tough. I was a lot (and i'm still) into post-rock, shoegaze, folk, folk-punk, songwritters, midwest emo, indie pop, neo-folk... I'm also really interested in classical and medieval music.

And yes, that song "sleep patterns" is one of the most beautiful pieces i've ever listened. I think what makes merchant ships so great is that they were very young when they made the band and all the feelings were still innocent, strong and sincere.

Well, to be honesto with you guys i too like a share of pop punk. However, just from time to time. I think pop punk is a good genre to listen in a sunny day when you feel good and don't want to spill the mood. Problem is that it's quite generic

One word of advice.
NEVER drop out of college. Some people may be qualified for the minimum wageslave life but from what you tell me you would just feel terribly miserable with that life.
I had a small taste of the minimum wageslave life and let me tell you, it's something you should avoid at all costs.
So, get envolved in your college life. Make friends, attend the classes, attend extra-curricular projects and you'll see that it will be amazing.

I moved to a new town to go to college last fall (I am 30, already finished CC), and have yet to make a friend here. I live alone and it's really brutal - since it's a college town you hear people out having fun all night.
I drive six hours like every other weekend just to see my family because I'm so lonely.
One more year. Goddamn. I'm going to try my best to make a friend in the fall but I'm not hopeful.

I really am just a fucking hermit. Granted I do have people I could hangout with if I wanted to. I also have to work so I interact with people at work too. I just prefer to be alone on my free time. A good weekend for me is going to the gym, playing vidya, watching anime/movies, getting on 4chan, having a nightwalk with some music, and having a couple drinks at least once night.

I know that feel. Been in a long distance relationship with a person i really, really care about but i think that things won't turn out the way i want in the end. She's moving out to a even further place so i think the end is quite soon.
the past six years have been a complete and constant nightmare. about two years ago i buckled down and up until 13 days ago was really busting ass towards getting some shit accomplished. long story short, shit went wrong and it's all been for naught. i'm 30 now and i had this image in my head that i wanted to earn and it kept me going. now it's gone and i just don't have any more fight left in me. there's only one real solution and now i'm just trying to get the courage to do what needs to be done. i try to be positive, tell myself that today is a fight and tomorrow will i'll endure it better, so on, and so forth. but i've fallen deep the past two weeks. i don't want anything anymore, i don't care. i don't feel sorry for myself, i'm not even really disgusted but that fucked up part that would laugh and say i'd fail the whole time is vindicated. it's over, it should have been ended already. it's time and i can't even find it in myself to be afraid.

I dealt with this also. My roommate was Chad except his face, it didn't look attractive but he lifted and was a snowboarder. There was one girl that kept trying to get with him and one night they fucked. The thing is, he always said she was gross before that. I just don't get it.
