Your attitude is totally uncool. The cashier is only doing their job and complying with the law. If the cashier fucks up just one time, they can be fired and/or fined and/or opened to other criminal liability, depending on the letter of the law in your province.

There are people under the age of 19 who look like you look. I guarantee it.

Literally the only people with this attitude are <under-25's who are either sick of still being carded, or trying to pass a fake ID or underagers without proper ID trying to get through a sale and thinking that copping an attitude or feigned indignation makes them look older (it doesn't). The day will come when you, yes even you as a man, will miss being carded, because of what it says about you - you still look young to somebody. Obviously this is a bigger deal for women but it's kinda nice to think that someone really wants your ID - all adults know this, and they furthermore all know that the only people who get an attitude are the above cohort of youth.

I drank whiskey in high-school because I thought I was hardcore but now I realize it's fucking gross. Whenever I drank vodka in the past I always went overboard and puked my guts out so I never drink it anymore.

>they're supposed to ask if you appear under 40
Holy fucking christ merica, get it together. Everyone gets a gun but you can't drink without getting IDd unless you look 40? If you look 25 or under you get IDd in Ontario and I thought that was annoying enough.
>>
>>29910540
They LEGALLY have to ask you sperg.
You think you're pride about your age is worth more then their job?
Get fucked OP

The funny thing is I used to go in when I was 19 to the same location and not get carded. It's usually female cashiers that ID me and not the guys. The cashiers are different now but it just goes to show what a joke even the government controlled LCBO is.

Well that's your fault, I had bad experiences on Vodka and stayed away for years but ended up drinking it again, just makes me talk more and Whiskey varies depending on what brand you get. Rum & Coke is my favourite.

>>29910778
I don't drink pop anymore and sugar/caffeine mixed with alcohol is really bad for you. Sometimes I drink gin and water when mixed drinks are half price because I'm a hipster faggot
>>
>>29910646

It depends on store policy, "look under 40 = automatic carding" is just something idiot-proof that some businesses adopt to minimize liability.

FWIW I would like to add to the OP that I like the sound of a place which has 19 as the legal drinking age. IMO, 19 should be the legal drinking age throughout North America, or in any society where it's assumed that high-school level education is generally done by age 18.

The reason why I have this opinion is that it's a happy medium between keeping booze out of the hands of high-school age teenagers (which I agree is a social good and good for the public health), and it's also not a stupidly ridiculous three-year wait until age 21, as typically, officially happens here in cuck-istan.

Yes, at age 18 you can be tried as an adult for murder, sign up to die on some rock, sign your life away in a legally binding contract, buy and smoke cigarettes, and both legally consume and star in pornography. But I reject the logic that you must must must be able to do /everything/ at 18 - you are still a stupid kid with a developing body (and more especially brain), after all. But it shouldn't take too much longer to legally drink. I like 19 as a legal drinking age, holding everything else equal. fite me

What kind of autismo doesn't drink underage anyways? I'm not saying north america should do this but in places like germany where the drinking age is 16 there's much less incidence of binge drinking and general retardednes from drunk kids. I think being able to drink beer at 18 and liquor at 19 is an acceptable premise but either way it shouldn't be any higher than 19. The 21 age requirement in America is laughably high.
>>
>>29910540
Same here m9.
You can buy beer at 16 here and I still need to show my ID almost everytime even though I am 23.

>The 21 age requirement in America is laughably high.

I do not have source, but I read years ago that 21, after much testing, was found to result in the least amount of alcohol-related accidents. Yes, 21 sounds absurd, but if it really does work the best, then I'm quite okay with it (mostly because I'm 24 though).

>>29911002
No where else has the binge drinking fratboy culture that America has.

Wine up here is cheap as fuck in some liqour stores, I once found $3 bottles of wine

Move to Alberta faggot or find a non paki liquor store
>>

We totally agree that 21 is too high, and "builds it up" such that binge-drinking is a thing in American culture. But as to your first rhetorical question, I don't take that by itself too seriously as an item of argument: what people actually do in private life, /if it can be controlled and regulated somewhat by the application of law/, does not necessarily render those laws moot or pointless, as you've suggested. Moreover, I think you'll find an honest autistic teetotaler or two in this very basket-weaving forum, if you ask around, and I think you already knew this when putting your loaded rhetorical question.

It is in the interest of a society and of the public health to keep booze out of the hands of stupid kids until such time as, dammit, they're going to procure it one way or another anyway. I would float age 20 as an absolute upper bound on a legal cutoff (I think Japan uses 20 in some places), but we also agree that 19 is a number that "makes sense", culturally speaking.

Short of wholesale Islamic takeover, we (America) will always be a drinking culture. The abjectly failed flirtation with prohibition a century ago is the historical proof of this. 19 could be argued as an age of "harm reduction" as well, to disincentivize binge drinking in the 18-21 cohort, as well as to keep booze out of the hands of the insufficiently determined 17 or 18-year old.
