I think the difference is that /r9k/ fully understands the reality of its own predicament. The people here ARE lonely, the people here ARE depressed, the people here DO get rejected - it's not a delusion like an SJW thinking every man is out to patriarch-punt her.
Outside the shit posting and ironic meme rage, a lot of robots are actually cool people who are in a tough spot in their lives. They don't want any trouble, they just want someone who they can share their love with - and this vents as frustration when they get turned down for a taller guy (not a delusion, it happens), or a richer guy (not a delusion, it happens) or some one else with any other better quality. It's all too common a story here, and it's probably the reason why most of us are here piled on with issues like anxiety/depression.
