Basically, in my dream I stole a plane and tried to smuggle it inside a truck (it makes no fucking sense, but since it was a dream I thought it was completely real). Of course eventually I got caught.
Then I was confronted by the police and my family and they told me that I would have to go to jail for at least ten years. I had a complete breakdown, begging them not to go too hard on me since I'm 18 and it's my first crime,
but they didn't give a fuck. My family drove me home one last time and everyone was eating what my mom cooked and talking to each other. They didn't give a fuck about me and my now ruined life.
Then I woke up, completely drenched in sweat (I was dozing off), went to my father, hugged him and cried into his chest.

Did you tell him what the dream was about, or did you just cry on him? Because then you could just make up some sappy shit like "I had a normal dream and then I woke up and you and mom and *insert any siblings here* were dead, and then I woke up again and it happened again and again until I woke up for real and was terrified you'd be dead again."
If you did tell him, then just say the reason you cried so hard is because you couldn't handle feeling like your family didn't care for you.
