Any robots starting University this September? I am, and I'm absolutely shitting it. Anxious that I'll have no friends and I'll just stay in my dorm all the time.

Rather not say, but a decent Uni in the East Midlands, England.

Off to Staffordshire, doing Computer Game Design. I feel indifferent really, since there's not really anything or anyone worth staying home for. Sick to the teeth with my job as well.

Where do you live? In the UK Uni starts in September and ends around June.

Nope, Leicester.

Uni is pretty much normie-ville and everyone tries extremely hard to fit in and be like everyone else, so keep in mind that that's what you're heading for socially.

If you try at all to make friends it should be fine. You just have to go into full normie-immitation mode and it'll be fine.

I basically sat in my room the entire first year and it was just meh. Don't regret it cause I hate normies, but looking back I would have at least tried a bit. You get a ton of opportunities to socialise especially in the beginning.

Lets be honest, all Unis in England are basically normie-ville.

It's gonna be as bad as you expect. I tried to make friends at first. You gotta make them the first week! Even by the first day, all the Chads would've paired up. In the beginning, I targeted 3 people I'd try to turn into friends. It was sort of successful, one of them I'd go out to eat with every weekend. But college is a completely different beasts. Eventually my relations dissolved over time due to lack of contact. Funny how easy school made forming friendships with constant social contact. In college, you go to class, listen quietly to lecture, then leave. There is no moment of socialization (other than the beginning of class), what excuse will you have? As hard as tried making friends, freshman year was awful in how I was friendless and alone. Affected even my grades even though freshman classes are the easiest.

Sophomore (2nd semester) I talked to a chill dude, he invited me to a very small study group with one other guy. We'd consistently meet to study, giving me a chance to display my personality. Later that initial guy I met switched majors and suddenly I had no more contact and he slipped away. Now I'm with the 2nd guy I met, he's cool and we became good friends. At the end of sophomore year, I was studying for my chemistry final a room PACKED with 6 people total. Not sure if I'll be able to meet them next year, so my future is shaky. I also never meet them outside of studies, because what excuse do I have?

Regardless, lesson learned: only way to make friends is to find some excuse to have consistent contact over time. Eventually you'll bond. I haven't reached the stage where we meet outside of those aforementioned "excuses", (study groups for me), now I'm going into junior year more confidently. I've resigned from making any lasting friendships, but at least I'm halfway day. Don't frustrate yourself if you can't make friends, you really only succeed inside your major. Also get used to eating alone, not as bad as highschool though.

whoops, thought you were talking about Leicester specifically. Disregard.

Going into my third year at Derby and can't say I want to leave.

Getting to have your own place and some cash to live as you please is fucking sweet.

In terms of getting a job with a History degree (what I'm studying), I might as well tell employers I did fuck all for three years, although I've fully come to terms with that.

I might just work in a retail shop and stay here, as long as I don't have to stay at my parents.
>>
The question I have for everyone. Is University better than high school? I hated mostly everyone in my high school (have roughly 2-3 friends) and also hate living at my parent's house.
>>
I went to my orientation and was kinda able to fake being a normal faggot. Was hard though, I ha d to force myself to talk to people.

I heard it's less clique-y and the people are less judgmental

I'm going, but only because there is nothing else for me. I probably won't make any real friends and will continue being a loser. Such is life.

Me too anon. I want out of my home town badly also.

>remember posting in college/uni threads when first starting college
>filled with hope and excitement
>graduating this year without having made a single lasting friendship
