I don't really care what other people are doing; my social media on my phone is mostly just Pinterest. You don't necessarily have to be being social on it to use it often.

Personally all I use mine for is an mp3 player that I occasionally get messages/calls from my family. I'm not a normie, but my folks sure are. Half the time they discuss shit it's either some video, facebook posts, social media stuff basically.

That friend connection thing may apply in Sims 2, the most normie sims there is. Sims 4 lets you just get promotions based on skills and hard work, like it should be.

There is a perk in Sims 4 called "connected" where you can start out a career at level 4, but you need absolutely zero friends to get it. You just need lifetime satisfaction points.
