Why do employers want social skills and charisma rather than a person's actual skill in today's jobs? Is it a right wing thing?
My parents who lived in the warsaw pact said that nobody looked for this bullshit and getting employed and if you had a diploma for a job meant almost instant employment with no risk of getting fired because some stacy doesnt like you or because you're not part of the "team spirit" or whatever bullshit reasons today's capitalists give.

Social skills are a GIANT asset in jobs. Bigger companies can have thousands of employees, if you want to manage them all, you don't put autists in charge. Somebody without social skills has very limited management potential in perticular.
On top of this, people just prefer to work with attractive socialable people. They're easy on the eyes to look at, and are nice to have a conversation with. If you really think this is holding you back in your career why not join a toastmasters or something? Or do something to sharpen your social skills.
Soviet countries had 100% employment but they did this by getting people to do useless fucking busywork.
That only applies to pleb tier McJobs. For jobs that need actual qualifications, no amount of social skills will help you if you're not qualified.

Most jobs require you to interact with others, so in order for you to actually perform "well" and have "skills" you need to be able to be pleasant socially.
It very much depends on the type of job. If you never have to talk to anyone else then social skills are not important, but most jobs require you to talk with partners, work together on projects, or speak with customers.
What is the job that you are specifically talking about OP? Is there a specific occupation where you believe those skills are not important but they prevented your from getting a job?

I'm no normie, but a normie friend can be a big asset. I took over running a rather large games club once, we had maybe 100 people a day and 20 people at close. Every day the same 4 people would do all the cleanup and everybody else would ditch, I would plead with people but I could maybe only convince one person to stay and help. Eventually I talked to the chess master of our club, an old man with a bad back, and he used his normie powers to plead with the club and get everybody to do their fair share. It made me realize that when you're managing a decent number of people, normie skills are a huge asset.
My last boss had insane normie skills. She literally never forgot a single thing I told her about my life, and never once forgot my name, managed a hundred people.
