>call from a number I don't recognize
>pick up
>a bunch of static for a few seconds, about to assume it's a broken robodialer that was supposed to offer me a free vacation in exchange for blah blah blah and hang up
>static stops
>"Hello?"
>2-3 men and women laughing loudly on the other end of the line
>static, then the line goes dead
>call made from within my state, about four hours away from a tiny barely inhabited town
w-what the fuck guys? Should I be worried?
>>29867729
I feel like you should grab a baseball bat and a rooster mask and go over to fuck their shit up
>>29867729
Oh fuck why did you pick up man? How long ago was it?
>>29867807
It happened just a few minutes ago. I try to pick up when I get calls I don't recognize, I don't want to be a total recluse. Most of the time it's robodialers though.
>>29867767
Do you like hurting people?
((not original))
>call them back
>number unavailable
[sweating intensifies]

Jacket is based af and the best hotline Miami character (I would even cosplay as him if I had money)
>>29867729
OP... if you're still alive it was probably a prank call (But still lock the doors and get a weapon anyway)
>>29869743
I've been getting static-filled calls for a while now.
RIP OP
hope you enjoy your last couple of hours
A phone call? Wow so exciting. Wish I'd get one...

I'm making a Hotline Miami short film, but I want it to be really close to the original in terms of speed and style.
Most other ones tend to really want to rip off Drive (some very literally, like this one at about 1:23 https://youtu.be/VUYSOQV6soE ) but I think it'd be cool to toss in the campy dutch angles and comedy of Sam Raimi's films, plus the ballet-like gunplay of shit like John Woo.
remember charlie mansons cult? well it starts with weird phone calls and then gang stalking, creepy crawling (breaking into your house and moving stuff around and walk around your bed while you sleep) and then finally some good ol ritual sacrifice.

Gotta give you advice remember we don't know jackets face. Try not to reveal it
>>29867729
Nah. It's more annoying when it's a legit prank. Thank fuck I learned how to handle those now.
>>29870409
Of course not. Only thing you'd see would be his eyes as he's putting on the mask. Rest would be in silhouette or from behind.
To that end, I might have a black friend of mine play him in some of the more violent scenes. He's got the buff, kinda terrifying body type that I think Jacket kinda needs for this stuff.

Nice. I subscribed and am hoping to see the full movie soon. Any ETA?
>>29870508
Did you subscribe to that one Asian dude? Because that weren't me, I'm a different Asian dude.
And I hate talking a big game and never pulling through. All the time I do this shit. I'm gonna work on a script tonight (maybe just write a silent Action scene) and talk to my storyboarding friend tomorrow, so he can pull a couple quick boards out so we at least have a guideline.
He did these for me earlier, for something that fell through.
Maybe its a prank call from the future OP. There's dicks in the future as well

I just subscribed to the channel that uploaded the video is that the wrong one?
>>29870700
Nah that was someone completely different. Just giving an example of how people are taking a bit too much from Drive and not taking into account the other aspects of the game.
>>29870741
Can you link me to the proper channel?
>>29870770
Nigga I haven't even started preproduction yet and this is easily going to be the most ambitious thing I've ever done. What I have on my channel is, quite frankly, kiddie shit in comparison.
But, if you insist...

And a separate channel my friends and I made shit on in high school.

Don't do this to me man. I've got the heebie jeebies enough.
