Is a single "You don't get the job" that hard? Rejection hurts.
>>29851630
Yes, yes it is. You wouldn't believe the amount of applications that go through HR of any reasonably-sized company, and giving all of them serious consideration and a reply would generate more pointless busywork and traffic than anyone cares to deal with.
Assume that it's a straight 'no' if you do not receive a confirmation email within ten working days of the application closing, and don't stop and wait, just keep applying until something sticks.

I saw a graph about the average time it takes between sending out an application and getting invited to a job interview in first-world countries.
USA is currently the fastest with under 25 days I think, France and Germany take the longest with up to 35 days
There are too many suitable candidates for any conceivable position, except those rare, obscure jobs that make mad bux but nobody told you they even exist so you never considered them and now at 28 you can't get the training because there's a steady supply of younger people and it makes no sense to invest another 2-3 years into you
Wow. I'm 3 for 3 in the last month.
I've got a friend who was as useless as you and his trick was to apply to every single place around that was hiring and then sort through them after he got the callbacks. Give that a shot.
> Send application
> No response in 2 days
> Start calling and mailing them a dozen times daily, if I had the job or not
> They even said "please stop calling us"
That'll show them
>got rejected by 23 companies this year
>one more company interviewed me and gave me the job but corporate axed the position right before I could sign the contract
It's ok fampai. It gets much worse.
I wish I could see the resume of the guy they hired every time you don't get the job. They could black out all the personal data etc I don't care, but it frustrates me to no end that you never get any feedback on why you didn't get the job. I have no idea whether I'm overqualified, underqualified, completely useless, or if my field is just saturated and I shouldn't overanalyze etc
Is it me? Is it them? How do I rank compared to other applicants?
I feel like this post is already proof that I have legit autism

>Is a single "You don't get the job" that hard?
Yes. We advertised an opening online at the store I used to manage. Got over 600 applicants for a fucking meme tier junior sales assistant position with less than 15 hours a week. It was enough work going through all of those and just narrowing it down to people that weren't completely awful. Responding to each and every one would have been a spectacular waste of time, hence why they generally say, "only successful/shortlisted applicants will be contacted."

>Get interviewed for a job
>Get the job
>Management decides to axe the position before the applicant can start
Sounds like something from a Dilbert cartoon.

>Sounds like something from a Dilbert cartoon
That's because Dilbert is way too fucking real. I used to laugh at these, then I finished college. I'm becoming more and more like him, and my aspiration in life is to be like Wally.

I see your point but an automated e-mail response would be nice. Most applications have some online segment so it would be fairly easy to implement. I think it should be law that after 6 weeks they have to send you something.
>tfw no one will ever hire me because of this
>"you can't wear an eyepatch because of safety issues" -- told this in both restaurants AND factory jobs
>will KILL MY UGLY RETARDED SELF if I can't get a job to keep from going homeless
>>29853229
does one of those colored contacts work?
your eye looks sexy anon
>>29853229
what happened to your eye? it looks badass
>>29853243
I must have a pussy for an eye because colored contacts irritates it to the point of constantly weeping involuntarily. Eyepatch or bust ugly.
> apply for waiter job
> managed to get an interview
> "we were expecting something more pleasing to the eye"
>>29853287
hmm its worth a shot. If they are willing to hire you like that. If you can pull of a beard and a rough looking face it would look pretty cool
>>29853296
>"we were expecting something more pleasing to the eye"
Jesus Christ
>>29853248
Retinal detachment when I was 4. Color is a result of lack of oxygenated bloodflow which caused the mispigmentation.

From what I hear that's nothing. Some people do like 50 per day.
>>29853364
Grow your hair out long and grow stubble/beard godddd so much potential!!!
>>29853145
This requires to set up, implement, and update an entire goddamn subsystem that will fuck with your email traffic, to absolutely no benefit for the company.
I mean yeah, it's not the most sensitive thing to do, but it is logical. You will not work for the company, so why should they incur additional operating costs for your sake?
>Applied to the Canadian Forces
>Got a response within 24 hours
>fuckyeah
>"Email detachment X, if you don't get a response in five business days..."
>Write to my local detachment requesting an appointment
>It's been three business days, no response
>>29853364
Dude, you're already black, bald, and one-eyed. You need a goddamn beard and you're set for life.
>>29853374
Also this.
Not to mention you really should be attaching cover letters and tailoring each application to the desired position.
Jesus. It sounds like unpaid work to maybe get paid for more work, innit. Just fucking... I have no idea. Get a technical skill or a trade. Learn to art. Fuck office jobs.
>>29853407

>>29853229

>be 25yo

>apply to job online
>web site says over 100 people have applied
>get asked for interview later
>HR lady says they're interviewing only 5 people and giving the job to only 1
And this is for an entry level job requiring a degree.
>>29853900
but hey, at least you'll get minimum wage minus union dues and no benefits if you win
>>29854023
>minimum wage
>union dues
>corporate job requiring a degree
Will you get reading comprehension if you win?
>>29854067
Do you think I put all of those together in a sentence and accidentally posted it?
>>29854023
Union dues? You've obviously never worked before.
>>29854581
>works 40 hour weeks in safe environment but shits on unions because that's what dad does
