Aside from stupid little things, what really made me mad was teachers who were immature and played games. You're there to teach and mentor, not to join the clique scene, buddy up with certain students and have it out for others. Especially with shit that revolved around essays, where it was totally subjective and the rubrics were so vague the teacher could give you any grade they wanted. My favorite ones were the teachers who graded bluntly and have precise feedback about your arguments, not the content. In 11th grade I had an ultra-feminist lit teacher, she failed an essay I wrote that was critical of this horrible book (The Awakening) we had to read. I asked her what was wrong with it and she have me a bunch of vague shit about how she "didn't like my tone" and when I pressed her a bit she said that my views towards it were "backwards". There were other teachers who would openly gossip with the Stacies before class, I remember one time a younger woman teacher was giggling with this one group of girls when they were making fun of this guy with Asperger's (who was annoying as hell but still, made me seethe).

I was the new kid and didn't even get a chance to make a first impression (still would've blown it anyway probably) She was really nice to everyone in the class except she had it out for me and most of the class hated me because of that too. The fifth grade had a whole monetary system and we were awarded it based on how well we behaved according to the teachers. What I hated was how the textbooks we were given didn't have enough information. There might be an entire chapter on electromagnetism in a science textbook but only half a page on how a motor works, which is what we needed to build for the class.
And when teachers explained things it would be a case of writing down on the board either bullet points or like 3 paragraphs which made no sense which we had to copy down.
I think if you want to be a good science teacher you have to be really good at communication. Maths is easy and can be taught by anyone. English is only understood if you smoke a few bowls and get all autistic about shit.
