When I look in the mirror to check what my face looks like when I try to make common reactions, I realize that I often don't make enough of a different in my face to indicate that I'm smirking.
When I feel like I'm smiling, I look like I'm scowling. I have to really force myself to smile to make it look right in the mirror. Same thing with raising my eyebrows.
