Used to be christian. Cant believe any more but Im fine with people believing if it makes them happy (as long as they're no shoving it down people's throats) Buddhism makes way more sense to me. I just like to pluck out the best philosophies wherever I find them.

I am an atheist that is trying to get his life back on track, and succeeding greatly.
I am tired of arguing with idiots on the Internet about religion, politics and everything. Now I just banter and shitpost. But I do admit, sometimes I do quietly say a prayer to God when I am alone and I need help, just in case. Things have been going well lately. Many challenges, but I keep beating them one after the other.

Religion at it's core was pretty much made to try and give answers to unanswerable questions and make us feel better about our existence.
It really does suck that atheism just seems to be the most plausible route to take... as much as I like knowing the truth, I really do want a skydaddy who will give me eternal happiness for being good
Like some of the others here, I cannot bring myself to believe it sincerely no matter how thoroughly I try. I actually envy a lot of people who have faith because while I may dislike their doctrines or interpretations of it, having faith seems to give them a peace of mind that many people including myself don't have and we feel a terrible restlessness and anxiety our entire lives.
I think many new atheists and atheists in general are brilliant and ethical people, but can also be insufferable douchebuckets as well. Christopher Hitchens, (peace be upon him) Richard Dawkins and Sam Harris are all intelligent people, but project an image of arrogance that bothers some people at times, even myself. Although I agree with them that islam is utter shit, they have ultra progressive views on other topics I disagree with.
There's much I dislike about Christianity and it isn't all the typical shit secularists enjoy ridiculing and yet like much of it. The golden rule is possibly the single greatest concept ever conceived, unfortunately most people the world over don't really practice it at all or to the extent I believe it should be and the extent to which I feel sure that God meant for it to obeyed if he does truly exist. I quite like Seventh Day Adventist Christians, they're easily one of favorite group of religious people along with some Hinduists, most Buddhists and certainly all Jainists.
I practice it because morality doesn't feel real without a god. So I stop caring about how fucked up it sounds to everyone. Secular morality is self righteous.

What if, one day, you found out you were not a real human, but instead some sort of semi-organic machine produced in a lab? Physically and mentally, you are exactly the same as a human being. However, you are not. You were created by a designer, possibly with a particular purpose. How does this change your view of yourself? Your view of the world? And what do you do now that you have figured this out, if anything?
