There is a solution to your issue, but whether you're interested in actually taking it up is another issue.
You need to speak to a speech therapist, who can give you the foundation and training to modulate / modify your voice. It's not a hoax industry either, it actually works.
When you think of a speech therapist, you probably think, "Oh nah, that's for deaf people or people who have had a stroke, or some shit."
Not true. My female friend is a speech therapist, and she works with all sorts of people who want to improve their tone and accent. If you can find the resources to fund a course of speech therapy, and you actually want to take the time and effort to do it, you can.
It's entirely up to you how serious you are. You can get speech therapy, which is actually quite an accessible health service, OR you can complain on /r9k/ without doing anything about it. I don't know you, obviously, so I don't know if the purpose of this thread is actual change, or just to have a bit of a moan.
