hi, i have aspergers and bipolar disorder. i usually spend all my time in my own little world of obsessions, and i am happy with that.
but my psychiatrist gave me anti psychotic meds, and now its making me feel sociable which is really weird, i am not used to it, and have no idea what to do, also i have lost my obsessions, i am just sitting here bored to death with reality, should i stop taking the anti psychotics?
how do normal people cope with the boredom of reality?

Netflix. Video games. Socialization.

They deal with it by socialising
It's not a bad trade-off, especially if the anti psychotics have granted you any positives. I'd keep taking them and get a hobby in your place, like a sport or a class. Somewhere to do something while surrounded by people with de facto shared interests, allowing you to socialise with minimal effort

Why was adding that you have a vagina relevant at all?
>Because I knew it would immediately get me more replies, of course

The restlessness usually goes away in a few weeks i think. If you're taking olanzapine and its currently leveling you out you're probably gonna feel a bit weird. If you're getting discharged from a hospital try to use the opportunity to reinvent yourself. Try to get out and be social however you can even if its just talking online to people.

OPhere:

thats good advice, yes i was on olanzapine but it made me gain weight, now it am on something like ariprazole, cant spell it.
thing is, i have never had friends. so i dont really know how to talk to people in real life, in the past if i have tried it has ended badly because i have no filter and blurt stuff out, i feel like a toddler in a big world with the urge to do things that might be harmful.

its good to know that it might level out in time.

Being friends with people with mental illness can be hard. Ive seen many not be able to handle it and move on. By seeing your doctor you really are trying your best I think to better yourself so maybe you can eventually find some people who will be your friend despite your flaws. Being honest about how the medications make you feel and self advocating is huge with mental health professionals. Making the effort by taking meds and hopefully talking to a therapist whom you actually like and trust should put you on the path to becoming someone who people can tolerate. I've seen it happen before with my younger step-sister who is in a very similar situation to you.

Be careful if they switch your brand of medication at the pharmacy.

A lot of doctors and pharmacists are waking up to the fact that the FDA is lying about all generic drugs being functionally equivalent, in light of all the recent cases of massive pharmaceutical fraud (look up Ranbaxy fraud for example)

I take olanzapine sometimes to help me sleep. After I take it though, I black out and do all this weird stuff before I pass out. Like a couple weeks ago, I put together two pieces of bread and took a bite from it. I must've been disappointed that it tasted so plain, because I just set my "sandwich" on the nightstand and went to sleep. Then yesterday I woke up with a lot of bits of folded cardboard and paper towels all over my room. My memory is really spotty, but I think I was trying to make a racecar track.

Aripiprazole won't do that to you though. I was on that for a little bit, but it didn't really help me with my psychosis. It's a stimulant, so that's why it makes you outgoing. It's like drinking a few cups of coffee. Everyone has different reactions to aripiprazole though. I didn't really feel stimulated at all from it.

I take it when I'm feeling a bit manic to go to sleep as well but ive never had any of those problems that really sucks. What dosage are you taking? I take a 15mg pill when I do.
>>
>>29828769
My prescription is for 15 mg, but I only take 10 mg because I don't have a tolerance to it like I used to. I hope 5 mg will be enough to let me get some sleep.
