anybody want to talk to an irl oldfag? I've been coming here 9 or 10 years. Let's share stories/advice and feels. Other 30+ bots get in here too
Discovered 4chan in '06. Seriously, being on 4chan as long as this is far from anything to even bring up. It's pretty pathetic how long I'm still here
>>29827308
Not bringing it up to be relevant. thought I could talk to other bots about time it felt like you made it and other feels.
What about you robosage? Where you from, how old are you, what do you do?
The oldfag who fought in the Rhodesian civil war here. Thinking of moving to Thailand this year and retiring there.
>>29827269
what other boards you use, and why do you still use this one?

NEET
Surprise surprise
>>29827368
You been to thailand? I went for a week last year. So much everything
>>29827370
sometimes fit or pol, b was easy to grow out of years ago. r9k sometimes had pretty good discussion but gets over ran by nonsense more and more. I think robotfeels get worse as you get older I'm still a man in his 30s living alone
Have been here almost as long. You remember tripfags "Old" and "Pops"? Its been far too long since they were here. I miss those threads.
Pic related: Pops
>>29827368
>rhodesian civil war
how did you end up in /r9k/ anyway
>>29827420
don't remember him but I recall a guy in his 40s who lurked all the time and dealt out advice on all types of subjects from money to his ex wife. He was on here all the time years ago and I was having nostalgia for a thread like that
>tfw now you're the old man
>>29827470
>a guy in his 40s who lurked all the time
That wasn't either of those guys then.
Do you have a job? Where do you live? How are you doing? What else do you like to do?
Any advice? Why do you think you still come here?
>>29827502
no it wasn't. I can't remember his trip even he even used one. Pops threads sound interesting, I wonder if they're archived
>>29827269
Well, I am interessted in what kind of outlook a robot has for the future. Did you manage to build up some kind of worthwhile life circumstances at this point? Not talking about a family or huge career here of course, just the usuall things like a sufficient job, place of your own, things to do, friends maybe. Where are you in your life? Are you happy with what you have?
It seems for me like the priorities greatly shift when one approaches 30, is the robot lifestyle more bearable with age?
>>29827427
Depressed from years of watching my country get run into the ground, bitch ex-wife harassing me, and kids never coming to see me. You guys are like my family desu.
>>29827515
I work in an office in california. I'm doing alright financially I suppose not always mentally. I don't do much else I'm drinking and lurking r9k like i always do. Advise for what? Specific situations is probably easier than general stuff but we can do that if you want
>>29827521
They were but I think that archive site died now. I missed his last thread but read it in the archive latter on.
>>29827531
some of that is covered here
>>29827550
finances might get easier as you get older. I've never been married no kids a few friends. Live like a neet in my off time mostly it gets me by
>>29827269
Don't get old lads. Nothing good happens, only bad.
I am 33 and my mother just got diagnosed with dementia.
>>29827533
you fought the good fight, god bless you oom
>>29827608
I feel sad for you robro. Where you from?
>>29827592
When/How/Why did you move out of your parents house? I want to leave here ASAP, the fact that I am still at my parents place with 21 starts to really bother me. The older anons here who are full blown NEETs in their mommies basement are worse than any horror movie for me.
>>29827649
>Where you from?
Australia m8.
>>29827650
I moved out around 21/22. Worked in a factory that was awful manual labor but good paying union job. Wasn't in college so knew I just had to suck it up and got a junk apartment outside the suburbs. Work was hard but solo living was comfy those first few years.
>>29827664
Same here. My mother is in her 80s and still goes walking from her nursing home for lols.
>>29827696
Did you ever have to do any caring for her before she went into the nursing home?
I am not sure what I am going to do. My mother is living alone and I think I will need to move in with her to look after her.
I'm 30 and I first got the internet when I was 10, it has really fucked me up.
>>29827737
There are kids who will have their first coloring books on ipads. We have far crossed that line.
>>29827724
Fuck that shit. If that ever happened to my parents i wouldnt give a shit to spite them for everytime they hit me
>>29827724
No. They both went to a retirement village of their own accord wile they were still driving and all. The nursing home is part of it so they are still together more or less.
>>29827800
Are you paying for that? Or them/the state?
>>29827800
You were lucky anon.
My poor mother. She is only 67 and lives alone.
>>29827763
I feel sorry for them. The net is such a cuck like that.
>>29827815
They are and the state.
They have more money than I do.
>boomers
>>29827832
I guess.
>>29827866
the net is the bull anon
>>29827724
You can get a carers pension.
>>29827946
>a carers pension
I am already on the disability pension and it is the same amount.
>>29827959
What is up with you to get that?
>>29827985
Depression etc.
>>29827992
Do you reckon you would be up to looking after her?
>>29828038
I would be up to living with her and being a calming presence so she doesn't panic and call the cops all the time (which is what she has been doing now).
I would keep her from doing anything crazy. I could cook meals and drive her to doctors appointments etc. Do the shopping.
I don't think I would be up to nursing her as such. As in showering and toileting her etc.
Once she gets to that point she will have to go to a nursing home. But she is not there yet.
>>29828078
>from doing anything crazy
I'm waiting for the day my mum goes out and gets lost from the home. Still I guess its better than vegetating.
Your dad?
>>29827608
Saved this from an old thread.
I've been coming here about 5 years I think. I'm 60, retired early and doing okay financially. I like some of the discussions here and boards like /out. No great stories though I remember puddi and consequences never being the same.

>No one archives the archives
>>29828148
>Your dad?
Him and my mother separated ages ago.
He is older and in bad health, but physically, not mentally.
He will probably die in the next couple of years, but him and I aren't close so it doesn't cut me up the way what is happening to my mother does.
>>29827269
Found this I know there are more like it out there
>>29828239
Well do what you can if you are able anon.
>>29828199
>doing okay financially
Lucky you.
>>29828221
I have some pops stories. They were too tl;dr for most anons I think.
>>29828283
>Well do what you can if you are able
I figure I have an obligation to. Although it is not going to be fun.
My mother was not fun to live with when she was sane and I was very happy to get out on my own.
