Race Relations would have been 2006 tier if the whole Zimmerman and Trayvon thing didn't happen. The media wouldn't be race baiting 24/7. The Church shooting would not have happened. The SJWs wouldn't be as loud, the alt right wouldn't exist. BLM would be only a tumblr thing. Half of us wouldn't even be racist. What happened this week wouldn't have happened. Ferguson wouldn't have happened.

Yeah,it's only going to get worse too. Cops will be even more uneasy and quicker on the trigger and blacks will probably be inspired yesterday.
In the long run it won't be that big a deal though, what's going on in Europe in recent years will have much more of an impact on the world that US race relations.

CNN, MSNBC etc. got huge ratings with the Trayvon case and they've been running with it ever since. This created an even greater victim mentality in the black community creating BLM and white guilt bolstering the SJW movement. Extremes tend to be met with extremes which made the "alt right" as large as it is today and now we have an extremely divisive society.
Funny thing is Zimmerman wasn't white and neither was the cop in Minnesota but it turns into blacks and whites screaming at eachother
