I just got rejected from my dream company in my field who got my hopes way up after their recruiter contacted me on LinkedIn out of fucking nowhere and set me up an interview - before the job was even officially posted. Before this, I had been sending resumes to whoever the fuck is hiring into the no response, automated rejection void, and thought this company was too elite for me despite having met with representatives at career fairs and conferences and having former classmates working for them. I thought all the "its who you know" finally paid off when a recruiter contacted me without me even sending in a resume. Now I just feel empty, and all the enthusiasm for my field (GIS) is just dead. I want to die.
