I'm a woman. Married, too. My husband never doubts my competence, my intelligence, or my sincerity. Also, what do you mean by "utility?" I thought you JUST said they doubt your competence. Also, my husband is my friend. Looks out for me more than he looks out for himself (which bugs me sometimes; I wish he would go to the doctor every now and again). As for other friends, I feel like I have a few, but mostly, I don't care. If you get one friend who is good enough and around a lot, that's all you need.
