Skating is fun. Skateboarders are usually pretty disgusting human beings though. I go to parks at real nigga hours when nobody is there so I don't have to deal with them shitting up the place.
The risk of physical trauma is too high for me to be worth a damn, spoken as someone who has broken several bones in his body throughout his lifetime. I do like the Tony Hawk games though, at least up to and including Underground 2.

I used to be really into skateboarding and skater pros a couple years ago, read Thrashed, went to skate stores, everything.
It's too bad that I never actually rode a skateboard before.
It's one of the few niche cultures that I appreciate. I don't skate myself but most people who do seem super chill. They do seem to get a bad rep in normie culture though.
