Well first off you need to be attractive and have a somewhat interesting personality/profile, for instance I'm 5'4 and I tell girls my height because I don't want them to think "Oh he's cute" and then if we meet up they find out I'm short as fuck and then it's awkward because they didn't know I was that short.
Anyway my point is you need to just be honest about your interests and what you're looking for, I don't think anything good comes from lying on your profile. Some girls will ask why you're on Tinder and what you're looking for, a lot of them say they don't do "Hook ups" which essentially means meeting up for sex, but some people have claimed they've had lots of sex from girls off Tinder. I really just think it's a combination of two things, one you need to be super attractive, and two you need to have a great personality that resonates or attracts the girls on Tinder.
TL;DR I think it's more of a normie app but robots can use it and be successful with it only if they're confident in their appearance and personality.
I can tell you from personal experience that I've only gotten 3 matches, and I don't have the confident to message any of the girls I match with so it's going no where for me. One of them messaged me and then unmatched me, probably when she saw my profile because I mention that I like anime and nerd shit. I don't get a lot of matches but I know why, it's mostly because I'm a 5'4 manlet and secondly I wrote that I'm big into anime. Well it''s worked OK for me. I've had it about a week and have 60+ matches. I have two shitty mirror selfies in my pajamas and that's it and I still get matches so it must mean something.
2 caveats though:
1. I'm liberal with my swipes so my matches are probably inflated somewhat. I avoid fatties and anything below 5/10 imo. I match with far less girls than I swipe.
