That is a good observation but there is one biological difference:
Women are biologically programmed to be more pride/selective because a pregnancy lasts for 9 months. Unlike a man who can fertilize as many women without any biological obligation, women's bodies are tied to that offspring. Because of the energy expenditure necessary for the pregnancy and the risk associated with it, women were selective about their sexual partners and wanted only the biggest+strongest men so that their offspring would be healthy.
Other animals in nature exhibit this same behavior associated with pregnancy. In species where the male is the primary caretaker or is the one who is pregnant, the male is the less sexual driven of the two sexes.
For humans specifically though, men are biologically programmed to prefer quantity over quality, and women are programmed to prefer quality over quantity.

For example my mom is a fairly intelligent person but she makes no attempt to understand a lot of the math and science stuff I discuss with my dad or my brother because she thinks its some arcane voodoo magic that would never make sense to her.
