This fuckin book. I remember arguing with my entire class that the ending WAS NOT A SAD ENDING because charlie was fucking miserable as an intelligent person and also was a total douchebag. He got to fuck both the chicks he loved and yeah he's going to die at the end but that ending is not sad, it is charlie as he is meant to be, that is part of why the book ends there and doesn't mention him dying or whether he even died. The only characters in that book who got fucked over are Alice and the mouse. I got so fucking pissed over the girls in our class crying over the ending because it made it clear that they did not understand the book at all. Also my dumb-ass faggot teacher told me I didn't understand the book because I read it in four hours after finals, six months before we read it for class. Then he tried to play DA against my argument and got utterly BTFO.
It's my favorite book. Not cause I won the arguments, just because of what it says about human intelligence, and it isn't just a shitty "ignorance is bliss" message either.
