yes
being alone is simply a situation one can find themselves in
being lonely is being either in the state of actually "being alone" or the perception of "being alone" (in that, you actually have a lot of people in your life, but you still think of yourself as "alone") and feeling negatively towards the situation
you can "be alone" and not "lonely", just like you can be "lonely" and not actually be "alone"
