If you look at a lot of younger liberals now, they usually just support laws in opposition with the current status quo without really knowing much about the proposal save the surface level ideas or a very specific part of what's being passed while not realizing there's more to it than what they want.
Also because of this idea of change is just good. They then believe those who oppose change are just bigots 'stuck in the Times' and so enetually radicals probably grew the idea to censor the people they don't like since change = good. Staying the same= not as good or bad. Therefore they are right and everyone else is wrong so they should shut up.
