Well, no, I know which image you are talking about, but this isn't based off that. This was inspired by yours, yes, but the base image was a different one. We agree that medicine is king, though :)

>unbelievable tier
>medicine

what do you mean by this? unbelievable that any robot would ever be stupid enough to pursue medicine?

I have many doctors in my family and none of them are happy. The problem with people who pursue medicine is that they don't know when to stop, it's always constant competition, they never get away from pre-med syndrome. And very few people go into medicine because they actually think medicine is cool, let's be honest. Everyone goes for money, they think it's the easiest, most consistent way to a 200k salary, but it's probably among the stupidest

and then there's the fact that they were pre-meds at one time, the worst people in the world

No other career all but GUARANTEES you a $200K salary. In engineering and computer science, you need to be at the absolute top of your field (I'm talking 99th %ile) to make $200K+ annually, but the dumbest doctors make that ON AVERAGE. Literally, pediatricians, the stupidest and easiest specialty to get into, make over $200,000 per year ON AVERAGE.

What does the average CS nerd make? Less than six figures. Same goes for finance. You need to be the absolute tippy top in those fields to make what a shit tier doctor makes.

fucking good for you dude. I was always good at art but always thought I couldn't make money at it. Now I got a STEM degree and I can barely make money at it anyway, and it is kind of boring at work. If I could start over from age 12, I think I would just focus on photoshop, graphic designing, painting, et cetera. You can probably freelance eventually. I spent a year at CalArts character animation program too, and many of the people I went to school with got some sweet jobs at big name companies. One girl I know can't draw for shit and her art is not good in my oipnion, but she is one of the people who makes Google Doodles. I think it's because she's a non white woman and politically progressive and you know how they like that aesthetic.

uhh

I also know people at animation studios, tv studios, etc. It's very possible. And they can't even fucking draw. I can draw better than them, but animation is more about writing/ideas (and networking.) One friend who is now a writer was originally an illustration major

just realized you wrote 3 words and i wrote 10000 so i'm gonna stop

Imagine how bad it is that college is free here, so anybody can study medicine (they say the requirements through the years are more difficult, to make up for it and clean up the freeloaders and slackers, but I don't believe it).

I'm not sure the equivalent, I'm in my first year and I have other 5 after it. And after that I can study to be a specialist, which would take 2-4 years more depending on the subject.
>>
>>29761609
I welcome the challenge. I was not the one complaining about normie things. I went to forge myself into a mortal archangel.
>>
>>29761609
No, you're right. I just never even thought my situation would be this. Given when I decided I was going to study medicine I was in Europe and had a decent enough life (not very social but had a close-knit group or friends and we were all going to do the same), but because of life events I had to move here and I haven't been able to connect with anybody yet. Don't know how to start from literally 0.

I perform well under stressful situations and I don't see myself being truly happy doing anything else. But I also want to consider less idealistic options in case I completely fuck up.
>>
>>29761727

As a former premed I heard "I dont know what else I'd do, honestly" all the time. I was really scared because I felt the same at the time. Now, some of you may disagree with me, but I feel like this is RRALLY unhealthy thinking (lol even on r9k, the unhealtiest circlejerk imagined).

Unless you truly feel job security is solely with med, I'd find a moral purpose to be in it. I have family members who are doctors. They didn't do it for the money. They found their purpose amongst the chaos within medcine.

Do not fall for the idea that you will only be "good" if you do medicine. If you're fucking regretful, its better to take the risk of leaving than staying and hating yourself forever.

>Info. Tech

What is that? I got a BsC in informatics and design of information systems and landed a job as a software developer for a big american company. You don't have to be an engineer to develop. Programming is more akin to a trade that you just learn the tools of and then you can use it. Of course, without engineering and mathematics courses you will be more limited in terms of what you can actually develop. Advanced algorithms, machine learning and stuff like that will be out of your scope. But most development isn't very groundbreaking and you will do fine as long as you learn how to code properly. I live in Sweden though, perhaps it is different in other countries but honestly I don't think so.

You're wrong. Won't even talk about chem, because it's a free job in the industry - physicist have plenty of choice in the industry too, and can additionally venture into finance-related jobs and upper management due to high analytical capabilities (same with mathematicians).

With a physics/math degree it's less about what you learned than about how you finished a degree in the most rigorous field, something that would be close to impossible with a low IQ.

All of the Professional degrees in healthcare are ass tbqh.
>MD/DO
Spend all your life in school, come out to a miserable job that works you to death, spend your massive bloated salary exclusively on your massive bloated student loans and never enjoy it.
>PharmD
Literally MD-lite in pretty much every way. Still a long and very hard degree but not as long, hard or expensive as MD. You thought you were ahead of the curve when you switched from pre-med to pre-pharm. A bit more manageable but in return for this you also get to live through all the horrors of retail and patients and prescribers all treat you like shit and district managers breathe down your neck as though you were a lowly cashier.
>DMD/DDS
Slightly better money than the PharmD, and easier school. I bet you thought you were the smartest fucker in the world when you switched from pre-pharm to dental. Then you realized that the unemployment rate for dentists is literally 30% and now you know why dentists have the highest suicide rate of all professions. I hope you made a good friend in dental school to open up a practice together with because you're screwed otherwise. BTW reimbursement from health plans has been swirling in the shitter for the last few years just like for pharm and med. Enjoy.
>DPT
Bending limbs and being called 'doctor' is awesome! Until you realize that you're entirely at the whim of a physician's referral to get patients and that most insurances won't reimburse physical therapy for more than about 3 months at a time. Enjoy sucking physician dick so that you're allowed to earn a living.
>NP
All the responsibility, liability and massive workload of a physician, but youre still just a nurse. LMAOing at ur life.
>PA
Pretty legit actually because you get to do doctor-stuff while being stuck to the doctor's tit at all times as far as liability goes. Too bad the competition is through the roof these days because everyone wants to be a PA.

Is being a doctor in US so great?

In my country, med schools are hard and the bad thing is, they don't get paid well. They have really shitty salaries in their early years, I can get almost the same salary almost anywhere with bachelor degree. Later on it can get better with them but not much, they often just leave the country because their salary is a joke, so other doctors must work over-time and it gets worse and worse. Some may have a private practice but they don't get to do anything else than work. So they have some money but can't spend it. It's shitty in the middle Europe here. So no unbelievable tier. It's pharmacy/IT here. But you must be also lucky.

If you're willing to occassionally pander to current trends like Overwatch and Steven Universe, and maybe willing to do porn of both, you will come out of it with a LOT of money provided you post on multiple sites like DeviantArt, Reddit, R34 sites and the chans.

I personally haven't done any of the above simply because of the lack of willpower to bother with such uninspired art that people like to gobble up, and I focus more on my passion and quality of drawing.
