When I was 19 I had the same problem.

You will fail at things but you need to do social things. Also, finding an overly social friend is helpful too--like try to find and extrovert dude (he may annoy the fuck out of you) but it will be good for you.
You can get a decent chick and lose your V-card. But it's gonna take a bit of time you just have to work on socializing and getting rid of those social anxieties. I did it. I'm still awkward sometimes but at least I can socialize and meet people now
